Immigration Integration Program

Partners in Training and Employment

In 2015, we continued to participate with various community organizations to attract employees from diverse communities, including those with barriers to employment. We partnered with the following organizations:

  • Argyle Alternative High School
    Participants are at-risk youth. In 2015, ACU provided workplace exposure through job shadowing.

  • Urban Circle Training Centre
    A non-profit, community-based organization whose objectives are to provide Aboriginal people with skill-specific training targeted to job-market demands. In 2015 ACU provided resume preparation support and workplace exposure through job shadowing.

  • Immigrant Integration Program (IIP)
    A joint program of four credit unions, Manitoba Labour and Immigration and Manitoba Start to provide Essential Skills training and work experience for immigrants to Canada. In 2015 ACU provided work experience and subsequent employment to participants of the program.

  • Edge Skills Centre Inc.
    An organization which serves the employment and educational needs of adults in Winnipeg through employment training, English language training, essential skills or academic upgrading. In 2015 ACU provided work experience/exploration and subsequent employment to a program participant.

  • Epic Opportunities
    An organization which provides holistic person centered supports to people with intellectual disabilities and promotes inclusive communities. In 2015 ACU provided permanent, part-time employment to a program participant.
